Nanaimo’s Uplands neighbourhood offers home buyers affordable, single family homes, condo and townhome developments. From the Annual Sales in 2017, the average selling price in this neighbourhood was $472,230 for a single family home, compared to the Nanaimo area, single family home, average sale price of $518,449.
The recently renovated North Nanaimo Town Centre, featuring Fairway Market, Canadian Tire, Galaxy Theatre, Lowe's Home Improvement, Mark's Work Warehouse, and London Drugs, is within walking distance of the majority of homes in this neighbourhood. A “must do” is to travel up the hill to The Boardwalk on Rutherford for everything from artisan bread at Bodhi’s Bakery to exquisite dinners at Hilltop Bistro.
The Uplands neighbourhood wraps itself around tree-lined Long Lake. Lakeview Park on the north shore and Louden Walkway along the south side of Long Lake are active recreational areas.
